Resources for proofs and typing math:

  • Guidelines for Good Mathematical Writing, written by Francis Su.
  • Markdown is a typesetting tool that is an alternative to something like Microsoft Word. It has a lot of functionality. It’s not required in this class, but you may enjoy using it. Here’s a guide
  • If you plan on typing any of your solutions for this class, I highly recommend using LaTeX (prounced “Lay-tech” or “La-tech”). Again, this is not a requirement for this class – the much easier option is to neatly hand write your solutions. If you do want to try LaTeX, here are some things that might help:
